Touchdown Terrace of the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium - Gainesville, Fla. 

The American Cancer Society will be having its annual Denim & Diamonds event on November 3. The evening will include dinner, dancing, casino and midway games.  For more information, please call 352-376-6866 ext. 118.

Fashion Show – Ocala Royal Dames for Cancer Research

Holiday Traditions – Stop! Children’s Cancer
Philips Center for the Performing Arts - Gainesville, Fla.

This three-part series will covered special topics relating to cancer in minorities and the elderly, as well as advances in oncology imaging and emerging therapies.

Colorectal Cancer Symposium
Cancer and Genetics Complex Auditorium – Gainesville, Fla.

The symposium offered an update on multiple aspects of colorectal cancer management, including epidemiology and genetics, surgical and radiation treatment, as well as treatment and advances in molecular targeted therapies.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer– American Cancer Society
Northeast Park, 400 NE 16th Avenue - Gainesville, Fla. 
The American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is a noncompetitive 5K walk.   Hope Starts Here... Today, there is more hope than ever for people touched by breast cancer. Early detection and new treatments have increased breast cancer survival rates.

Light the Night – Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Ben Hill Griffin Stadium - Gainesville, Fla. 
The Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide evening walk. Walkers carry illuminated balloons to celebrate and commemorate the lives touched by cancer. Funds raised will support our mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

September 28, 2006 (registration – 5:30 pm; walk begins at 7:30 pm)
